Grant - Morf Carbon - Building Scalable Bioreactors to Decarbonize Food Production

We are excited to announce that Morf Carbon is the next recipient of funds from our Climate Crisis Startup Equipment Fund

Morf is on a mission to accelerate the decarbonization of food production and other production industries. Morf aims to accelerate decarbonization by building enabling technology for companies making microbiology-based products that can replace animal-based and fossil-based products (such as fermentation-based vegan cheese). More specifically, Morf is aimed at solving a critical challenge in microbiology-based manufacturing: scale up. Bioreactors are the equipment microbiology companies use to biomanufacture their products, and while many companies can successfully produce in small-scale, lab-based bioreactors, they often run into major challenges trying to scale up to produce in very large, commercial-scale bioreactors. Morf is taking inspiration from adjacent climate technologies and seeking to build a system that requires less scale up in order to reach large production volumes.

We are very excited the Morf team was able to utilize the $25k grant from the Reimer Family Climate Crisis to build a working prototype of their next generation bioreactor!
